EQ Profile and User Settings
I was tasked with designing an intuitive and social-driven user profile experience that seamlessly integrates event discovery, social interactions, and ticket management.
01
Project Goals
Seamless Social Engagement: Allow users to stay connected with friends by seeing their event activities and responding to friend requests.
Effortless Event & Ticket Management: Provide a user-friendly way to bookmark events, track purchased tickets, and transfer them.
Intuitive Messaging System: Enable easy communication between users to coordinate event plans.
Customizable User Profile & Settings: Let users control their public-facing profile, privacy preferences, and notifications.
Mobile-Optimized Experience: Ensure smooth interaction on both desktop and mobile devices.
02
Research and Discovery
To understand user needs and pain points, I conducted:
User Interviews: Spoke with event-goers who frequently buy and share tickets online.
Surveys: Collected responses on how users interact with event-based social features.
Competitive Analysis: Studied platforms like Eventbrite, Ticketmaster, DICE, and Facebook Events to identify strengths and gaps in user profiles.
03
Key Findings
Users wanted an easier way to see what their friends were doing: Many felt disconnected from their social circles when discovering events.
Managing tickets and transfers was frustrating: Users found existing platforms too complicated when transferring tickets to friends.
Messaging was crucial for coordination: Users often had to switch between different apps to coordinate event plans.
Privacy control was essential: Some users wanted more control over what parts of their profile were visible to others.
04
Wireframing and Prototyping
Using Figma, I created low-fidelity wireframes to test layout structures and navigation. After validating these concepts with users, I developed high-fidelity prototypes with interactive elements to refine usability.
05
Key Features
Profile Customization & Account Settings
Profile Customization: Users can update their profile picture, bio, and username, creating a personalized identity on the platform.
Privacy Controls: Manage event visibility by choosing who can see bookmarked events, attended events, and friend lists, with options for Public, Friends Only, or Private settings.
Notification Preferences: Users can fine-tune email and SMS notifications, enabling or disabling specific alerts based on their preferences.
Connected Accounts: Seamless integration with social media and calendar apps allows users to share events and receive reminders effortlessly.
Security & Account Management: Users can manage saved addresses, change passwords, and access additional security settings for enhanced account protection.
Direct Messaging for Easy Event Coordination
1-on-1 & Group Chats: Users can start private conversations or create group chats to discuss event details, plan logistics, and share excitement with friends.
Event-Specific Messaging: Conversations can be initiated directly from an event page, making it easier for attendees to connect and plan seating, travel, or meetups.
Multimedia Sharing: Users can send event links, images, flyers, and ticket QR codes within messages, ensuring that all important details are accessible in one place.
Organized Inbox with Filters: The inbox includes tabs for group chats, archived messages, and direct messages, allowing users to easily manage conversations.
Smart Notifications Center
Friend & Activity Alerts: Users receive real-time notifications when they get a friend request, a request is accepted, or when someone interacts with their profile, keeping their social connections active.
Event Participation Updates: Notifications let users know when a friend bookmarks an event or purchases a ticket, encouraging shared experiences and group coordination.
Personalized Event Reminders: Users receive countdowns, ticket transfer confirmations, and upcoming event alerts, ensuring they never miss an important event-related update.
Pending Actions & Requests: The system highlights pending ticket transfers, memory uploads, and event invitations, allowing users to take action quickly.
Read & Unread System: A clear distinction between new and old notifications helps users efficiently track important updates at a glance.
